Wednesday, Oct. 20-6:05 p.m.

Lizzie Lamb and Tanesha Tekola from the Associated Students Women’s Center sought approval from the board for the WC to hold gender-exclusive and gender-targeted events the center is organizing throughout the year. The board voted in approval of the events.
Shalom Long and Aubrey Kitchen from AS Productions gave a presentation laying out their plans to organize a volunteer street team that would promote ASP events. They explained what the street team is, how it works, its cost, why ASP needs it and what the overall goal of the team is. The board passed a motion to fund ASP’s proposal with money from the AS operational enhancement fund along with additional money from the board’s discretionary fund.
The board unanimously approved the job description for a Green Fee Education Coordinator, a three-quarter salaried position that will educate the campus community about the Green Energy Fee Program and help students get involved.
Charge and charters for the Green Energy Fee, Transportation Advisory Committee, Ethnic Student Center Steering Committee and the ESC President’s Council all passed unanimously as well.
Vice President for Diversity Bernard Ikegwuoha submitted a proposal to transfer $10,000 from the AS rainy day fund into the cash-strapped operational enhancement fund. Ikegwuoha wrote in the proposal that the transfer is necessary to grant funding to recent requests the board has already approved, and to also have money on hand for any future requests.  The board agreed to discuss this plan further in an upcoming work session.
A new charge and charter template passed, along with committee appointments for the AS/VU Technology Committee, AS Transportation Advisory Committee, Green Energy Fee, Legislative Affairs Council, Budget Committee and the Committee on STS Budget Reduction.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:58 p.m.
