Pies have a reputation for being not only delicious but also a challenge to make. The naysayers of the pie-making world will tell you that pies will, above all, take time away from your busy life. But that isn’t true. Especially as we approach a holiday made for baking pies, it’s important to know how to make one fast. Although this recipe has a long baking time, the assembly takes less than 10 minutes. Besides, the baking time gives you an opportunity to tackle that final paper … maybe.

What you need to make one pumpkin pie

(adapted from the Libby’s recipe)

1 unbaked pastry shell

½ (about 15 oz.) can pumpkin

1 can (14 oz.) condensed milk

2 eggs

1 tsp. cinnamon

½ tsp. nutmeg

½ tsp. ginger

¼ tsp. cloves

How to do it

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2. Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.

3. Pour into unbaked pastry shell and bake 15 minutes.

4. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 40 to 45 minutes.

5. Enjoy!
