Committees
Want to know more about the campus community? How about having a say in decisions that affect students? Then joining a committee may be just the thing for you. Read on to find out how to get involved.
There are 45 AS and University Committees that have student positions. They address subjects such as academic policies, transportation, funding for activities, etc. For information or to apply, visit www.as.wwu.edu/committees, contact cindy.monger@wwu.edu or call (360) 650-6455.

Student Senate
The Student Senate is a discussion-based group that advises the Board of Directors. A total of 14 senators serve on the senate. They post a Question of the Month that students can answer in front of the AS Board office or on the AS Web site. Based on this question, the Student Senate gauges student opinions about various on-campus issues, which are then addressed by the Board. Student senators also attend conferences, committee meetings and serve other jobs in the AS. Above all, they strive to represent student interests. There are currently vacant seats on the Senate. If you’re interested in applying, please contact the Student Senate at as.studentsenatechair@wwu.edu or call 360-650-6455.
