The one time national low $5.25 is not necessarily down for the count but seems to be in a deep coma and has about a 5 percent chance of making it another year. In a year or two, Wal Mart employees around the country will be able to enjoy the plush life that $7.25 an hour brings with it.

The artist that created Scooby Doo and the Jetsons’ dog Astro passed away Jan. 9. He died of a heart attack at age 81, according to reports in the New York Times. He’ll be missed by meddling kids across the country.

Momofuku Ando,
Invented Instant Ramen
Famous (and rich) for being the inventer of instant ramen. Ando died of heart failure at age 96, according to reports from the New York Times.
Just imagine the world without Ando. All those last minute meals that consisted of a pot bowling water and some instant ramen would be gone.
