Take Back the Night04.24.14 7-10pm Free PAC plaza
Take Back the Night is an empowering rally and march that protests violence against people of marginalized gender identities. This year it will be on April 24th from 7:00pm-10:00pm. The rally will take place in the Performing Arts Center at 7:00. It will feature students giving personal "Why I Fight" statements that reflect on violence in their lives and communities and the poet and activist Staceyann Chin will be performing. Afterwards people who hold marginalized gender identities will march through campus and down town, while allies hold a candle lit vigil in the PAC plaza to show support. Afterwards Staceyann Chin will have a book signing.
