They're More Afraid Of You: The Art of Mike Capp and Justin Hillgrove

Mike Capp and Justin Hillgrove both paint colorful, amusing, and unique creatures using primarily acrylics. Capp's "Monsters & Men" artwork has been inspired by the "spontaneous ideas and playfulness" of his children, with subjects including animals, fruits, skulls, robots, superheroes and unknown creatures. Hillgrove's "Imps and Monsters" include the same diversity in subject matter, with a more cartoonish and smooth style, and he is also influenced by his children and wife. Capp and Hillgrove have collaborated in the past, and will come together for a showing of fun and spooky creatures at the VU Gallery.

This monster collaborative show will run from November 3 through the 21. Please come join us for the reception on November 6th at 7 pm for free food and a chance to mingle with fellow viewers.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 11am to 5pm.

See you there!
