What is Western Votes?

Western Votes is a nonpartisan, student-led organization that volunteers to ensure that Western students are registered to vote, educated on the issues and candidates on the ballot, and then actually voting and active in politics. As a means to do this, Western Votes hosts the on campus voter registration drive each year, runs a Get Out The Vote campaign to engage students, and helps with planning, organizing, and participating in trips to Olympia and on-campus political rallies.

 Who is Western Votes?

Western Votes is Western's own chapter of the Washington Student Association, an organization that represents every public university in Washington State and advocates for changes that benefit students of higher education. Students in Western Votes come from diverse majors and political backgrounds. Western Votes is non-partisan and interested in civic engagement and citizenship more than advocating for specific policies. If you are a student at Western and want to be politically engaged or want to see others politically engaged, we encourage you to join Western Votes!

How can I join Western Votes?

If you want to join Western Votes you can join our facebook group and send us a message or stop by the Representation and Engagement Programs office in the Viking Union, office 435.
