Director's Statement of Purpose
The ROP Director is responsible for the overall operation of the ROP programs. This includes training, supervision, and evaluation of ROP program coordinators and assistant coordinators, facilitating office communication, budget management, serving as a liaison to other areas of the AS and Viking Union, and ensuring that programming is of high quality and meeting the needs of Western Washington University students. We offer work-study positions, volunteer opportunities, resource libraries, referrals to other campus and community resources, programs for residence halls and classrooms, peer supports, and small- and large-scale events.
The purpose of the seven centers of the Resource and Outreach Programs (ROP) is to provide information, advocacy, activities, and peer education to Western students. The ROP strives to empower and support all members of WWU’s diverse community. The ROP also provides the Opportunity for WWU students to gain valuable work, volunteer, and life experience.
