For Professional Staff and Faculty:
Attend the Training! Throughout the year facilitator training programs will take place for those interested in being part of the E.D.G.E. Program. Experience with adventure based programming is beneficial, but not necessary. If you would like to be put on a list of those interested in the next scheduled training call (360) 650-7532. Applications can be picked up at the Outdoor Center (VU150)
Take the Class! During the fall and spring quarters Western offers a 2 credit PE course (PE 105) to students called Challenge Facilitation 105. This course provides an overview of the theory and application of adventure based programming. Students will be introduced to safety practices, goal setting, framing and debriefing both group and individual challenge activities. Students will practice leading others in challenge learning activities. Upon completion of this course and recommendation from their instructor students may become certified facilitators that they can use for facilitating the E.D.G.E.
