"Let's Blaze"

This body of work is illustrative of my initial explorations in functional ceramics. The intersection of queerness, politics, and craft is a central theme. The connotation of functional ware as fully utilitarian objects embedded in daily life conjures ideas of family, care, and materiality which are representative of queer community and political activism. Additionally, these works were inspired by the ceramics of Kathy King.
