What is the AS Senate?
What is the AS Senate?
The Student Senate primarily represents students in academic areas, including academic department policies, curriculum design, assessments, and academic support services. Two Student Senators are elected to serve as representatives for their College. For instance, the College of Business and Economics has two Student Senators who advocate for the students within that college.
Student Senators’ responsibilities include participating in academic committees, meeting with their student constituents, and working alongside faculty and administration to address and fulfill the needs of their college's students.
If you have a concern or a topic you are interested in learning more about, contact the ASWWU Senate President, At-Large Senators or Senators from the relevant College below or come to a meeting.
Regular ASWWU Senate Meetings for Spring 2026 will be held every other week on Wednesdays (except University Holidays), starting April 8th from 5:30pm-7pm in VU567, online attendance available using Teams TownHall
